I have always been under the impression that this was not an option where the priv was concerned. Is this correct?.
As I used to enjoy this feature on the 9810. It would be handy,

Title apologies done on vkb don't see how to correct .
There will be no updates for the Priv. It will forever exist as it is now.

That with respect is not quite what I was after
I had an idea from reading a post that this option may have been achieved. if so this would be of interest .I have probably misread ,however if not.Has anyone managed this.

Apparently an app called Tasker can achieve this. From another thread:

    • Open Tasker, and in the "Profiles" tab, click the "+" in the bottom-right to create a new profile. Give it a name if you like.
    • Select "State", then "Hardware", then "Keyboard Out". It'll show an option for "Invert", leave it unchecked.
    • Hit "Back", and then it'll show a menu to choose what task to run for the profile you just created.
    • Click "New Task +" and name it if you like. It will go to a new "Task Edit" screen.
    • Click the "+" in the bottom-middle, then "Phone", then "End Call". It'll show a new screen where you can add other conditions, but for now leave it blank.
    • Hit back. It should show you the Task Edit that we created, with the first task being "End Call".
    • Hit back again. You should see the profile you just created, with a green arrow pointing to the Task.
    • Long-click the task, and click "Move to Exit". It should now be a red arrow.

What we did was first created a profile that detects when the keyboard opens. By default when we create a new task in a profile, it runs when it enters that profile (green arrow). But since we want it to run when the keyboard closes, we moved it to run when it exits that profile (red arrow). If you want, you can add a enter task to do something when they keyboard opens, or add more actions in the exit task when you close the keyboard (e.g. turn off the screen).
I haven't tried this, but you may want to.

    Thank you very much.
After all that detail how can I not.
Will post results. I have two operating and most of the time satisfactory privs on the go so would save a lot of uncertainty where calls are concerned

After a fair struggle it worked fine closing off calls on both my privs.
If one has to handle calls with far from clean paws it will be great to it all by way of the slider.

Just to add a bit more to this thread ,Tasker is remarkable .
on shutting the keyboad i have made it now display my app killer and start hibernation manager.
this appears to achieve all that is required to preserve the battery.
Makes an entire new dimension to this phone and solves a lot of issues. It would be interesting to know what other priv users have achieved by way of this app.

Have used this BlackBerry option from new.
It is the ability to finish calls via closing the keyboard that is so handy via Tasker not to mention what else appears possible.
