I like to have different colors for the LED for different events.

For me, there are mainly 4 apps: emails, SMS, phone and Whatsapp. I went into Settings, then Sound and Notifications, then App Notifications... Here it displays all the apps and I noticed that only Whatsapp has the option of Light in App Settings,

Is there any reason that Messager does not have options for the LED?

All of what you asked is available.

Make sure you have a simcard installed and the latest apps from BlackBerry for text LED availability.

LED email support is configured in the Hub app settings.

I also could not change Messenger's default blue LED notification. There doesn't seem to be an option to do it in the notification settings and I have the updated version.

Same here. I saw the older option in Wahtaspp only, not in Messager. I have the latest version.

As for Light Flow, I read that there are ads.

How is the battery drain on this app? I tried one, but I can't remember which now, but it was draining my battery like crazy! Using almost as much juice as the screen did.

Really? A LED app drains significant battery?
    Maybe tmoore3496 can chime in.

Strange that Messanger does not support it. I watched Priv promo video that mentioned this option, different LED ps for different notifications.

I can change all of that or at least the stuff in the list that I use with either the message app that I use or in the hub itself. You shouldn't need an extra app for it. Power tools is available on android now as well
. If you want a text app that let's you customize more then yaata will allow that as well as probably textra. Ditch the stock messenger app and you should have what you want

Yes, there is no more the option about the Led.
It's available only on emails and whatsapp.

It used to be there. You could install something like Yaata which has the LED configure option inside the app.

Via settings in the Hub one can have a different light for each email. Messaging I found I had to go into the specific App settings to select the colours. No extra App needed for my LED use.
