Nothing to do with Blackberry, thats the way Marshmallow works.

Opinion - the 128 cards are the best bang for the buck, and 128 is a whole lot of storage.
Several manufacturers disable Adoptable storage (LG, Huawei, Samsung, Sony), so it kind of has something to do with BB.

    You're right, kinda
I didn't know Samsung didn't allow it, but then I was only vaguely aware that some didn't allow it, and assumed it would be the fringe manufacturers.

I wasn't trying to imply this was a unique BlackBerry feature. I was countering the claim that it wasn't currently possible, and would never be allowed on BlackBerry devices.

    64gb.

(Side note, I have tried to move apps using an app.. But the button to 'Move' wouldn't appear)
Unless you are planning on changing your usage patterns, I'd say go for the 128GB.
I know there is a tendency to want to go higher because you feel like you're going to need it someday. The thing is, by the time you need more than 128GB, 200GB (and probably 256GB too) will be much cheaper than it is now.
In my opinion you don't really need the fastest card for the sort of use you've described. Just make sure you get a genuine card. There are a lot of fake cards out there.

The U3 is recommended for HD video, for everything else a slower speed is prob fine. But when I was looking a few months ago, the price difference between U1 and U3 wasn't much.

Good point. Those lucky people with iphones don't have any issues in that area.

So what class do you recommend for a U3 for Priv and future BlackBerry devices?

As an aside, I found this one: http://m.canadacomputers.com/mobile/itemid/089263
I have that one although I got it from bhphotovideo.com at a ridiculous black Friday price. Always good to keep an eye on their site. With the exchange it looks just a bit lower there. Card works great.

I have noticed that BHP now have a comparable 256GB version albeit for a lot more. $180US vs $73US.

Also, the card in my PRIV shows up as a 183GB device, which is a larger reduction from "list" capacity than I would have expected. Not that I am an expert.

It's supposed to be 186 by GB>GiB conversion alone, but I don't think you'll miss those 3 GB that much with that big a card.

True, but when I was looking at pricing, I could buy almost three 128's for what a 256 cost.
And that wasn't long ago, coupla months, maybe 4. Pricing is very volatile, no idea if that still holds true.

If using a card reader or adapter try a different one. What format was using on the 64gig? exFat or other? Is the Mac particular about card/disk formats?

Basically says "Input/output error" when done through Terminal. And with Finder, it just says "Cannot copy" or something to that effect, and just quits.

I used the adapter that came with the new 200GB card to read the 64GB one through Mac. Then tried to copy 64GB to Mac - met with errors.

I think it was "Other" because I don't remember installing the Microsoft exFat driver for it. Just installed it for the 200GB one.

I don't think the Mac is particular, but if it was, it wouldn't even display the files in the 64GB card :/

Just put the 64GB back into PRIV and tried creating a folder in it, and now it says "Permission Denied" :s

Could be the card got corrupted somehow. Can you read the older files?

Know anybody with a Windows machine you could just try?

You did not format it as Adoptable (encrypted) Storage to extend the Priv's memory or allow apps to install to the sd card?

Nope, didn't do that for sure. It was just an SD card for extra storage.
Also, I don't have a Windows machine - but I do have a Windows virtual box (it runs Windows inside my mac)
