To be honest before I didn't like this slider type Venice BB, but now I pretty sure I will get one just to try... still satisfied with PP.

    Sure. If it runs BB10.

If it's running Android, I don't see it competing with other Android handsets out there.

There are some variables that may make a difference like cost and availability, if both boxes are checked, I believe it will sell better than any of the previous BB10 offerings.

I love the slider. Torch was my favorite. This one seems way to big and the square corners ruin it for me. Passport was rounded off. Why won't they learn from their mistakes??? Blah

I'll be impressed only if it is able to run its root OS. There are more android phones can sport those features (gambling with pkb of course) and I gotta admit, I'm not impressed.

It's running Android so BlackBerry's enterprise customers can use the Android apps they need for their business.

They don't need to make a lot of them, and they don't need to sell. It will be like BlackBerry's Nexus device. It will showcase BlackBerry software/services. If they can get it to connect to BlackBerry servers without needing special hardware, it will showcase the Hub app, Calendar, BBM, and other BlackBerry services.

If they're making a Hub app for Android and they're securing PIM services, then it would be foolish to be restricting this functionality to BlackBerry only devices.

As someone above stated, a slider isn't for everyone. But if someone wants a touch-only device, wouldn't it make sense to have BlackBerry software/services available on those phones too? After all, isn't that the direction Chen is taking BlackBerry anyway?

5.4 inch screen. Take away the curved edges and you left with a screen smaller than the Z30. Add lagdroid and its looking like a NO for me. But.............. for the collection a possibility but not a certainty. Don't need no googles to log and validate my existence.

Only if your a droid with an appetite for the physical keyboard. Personally I converted to full touch a long time ago. And as it will be android I see no reason having what will be a redundant pkb taking up more space on a phone.

I'm not sure how much of a requirement this will be in the android market.

And of course if it's running bb10 say bye bye to right out the gate.

It's negative, but just look at the last 2-3 years

But that space could have been for extra battery life or negated to make the device thinner, like the iPhone, because that's what matters!

Seriously, it would be amazing if the keyboard could be slid out and replaced with an extended battery. It would make the Slider be for both keyboard and full touch enthusiasts (other than those that want "thin").
