Would it be same price if you were to buy shopbb then use a freight forwarder and pay import taxes?

I've been asking around and it looks like the India launch is around the corner. The store I usually buy from in Mumbai expects to have stock in the first week of January. He said the price will be in excess of Rs. 60,000!!!

Hope BB decides to price it ~ Rs. 50,000 instead.

Got it from Canada STV100-1 with wireless charging. Didn't want to wait around for the STV100-3, whenever they decide to launch it here and price it ridiculously. I paid approx. Rs. 47k instead of around 60 when it releases here.

So there's a website, dutycalculator, that will let you calculate the cost. If you purchase from ShopBB (US) for $699, and considering shipping is around $110, the total landing cost in India would be around Rs. 61k. I don't recommend this, just wait for the launch. If it's more expensive than that, you can always import it.

I asked around again and now it looks like the India launch has been delayed. A couple of stores I asked said they don't expect it to launch before the end of January.

They are selling the grey market Priv for ~ Rs. 50,000 - 55,000.

Looks like it will in stores in a couple of days. Price is Rs. 63,000.

Surprisingly I spoke to a couple of stores in Mumbai and they had no idea regarding availability. Makes me wonder if it'll be an online only launch.

Been rockin the priv since Nov 20th. Paid too much for it, but I guess that's the norm if you want the latest and greatest. I got a case, wireless charger and 256gb card free. About 78k all inclusive.

It's gotten better over time. They launched it today at 63k. I think it's worth it, but that's just me.

I was waiting for the priv to come to india...and blackberry india decided to play a sick joke on me. $700 in the US and $930 in india....pretty darn stupid....neways i saw here a post about buying it from canada and i was planning to do something similar. Just wanted some feedback if the phone works well here in india and supports all the frequency bands, also does the appstore let you buy stuff in INR ??? any software hiccups??? do the OTA updates work here??? Also is the warranty covered here???

Hoping for some feedback as i've never bought a phone from another country and tried to use it here.

A couple of retailers in Mumbai have now confirmed that stock will be available this week for sure. Is it available anywhere else in India yet?

I don't see it on Amazon.in yet either.

    To answer your questions

It works perfecty across all bands and countries. Tried it in a few other countries works fine.

The Google play store allows you to pay in INR.

All software updates come in on time so that's not a problem.

Warranty will not be covered in India.

I think it'll sell well in the first week or so. Some people have been waiting the official Priv with warranty for a while.

The real test will be in a couple of weeks!

Has any one on CrackBerry purchased it @ Rs. 63 K?
