Sometimes when using apps every tap can take 5 seconds sometimes up to 15 just for the phone to respond.

I've dealt with this for 1.5 years. Now my patience is running thin.

Really can't wait for the KeyOne to drop.

    Settings, storage, internal, cached data.

Also, change animations to 0.5x in developer settings.

    Then reboot.

Why would you think the KEYone will be any different? It's Android.

Just property manage your caches and Android runs lightening fast.

Settings>storage and usb>internal storage>wait for calculation to complete and tap cached data.

That will clear your cache data.

He posted it a few posts up. Settings, storage and USB. Click on internal storage. Then click on cached data and clear cache.
Android really needs a way for this to be cleared automatically. Maybe on a reboot or something. So many people aren't aware of this and it does cause slow down as it builds up over time. I usually clear once every couple of weeks or so.

    See post number 4 above.

Caches are good things, until inevitably something gets corrupted or they become too large. I usually clear them out when they go above 800 megabytes, or at least once a week.

To turn on developer options, settings>about phone>tap build number 5 times. Then close settings. Reopen settings and you will see 'developer options'. Tap this and scroll down until you see three headings 'window animation scale, transition animation scale, animator duration scale'. Tap each one and set to .5

You will be surprised at how this affects the speed of your phone.

in theory, updating PRIV to 7.0 would have done that ages ago... KeyONE has pretty much the same processing power as the priv

Thanks for the tips - although my phone speed has been fine I cleared the cache and was a bit astonished to find mine at just over a GIG!

Side note: in 1980 or 81 I was helping my wife run a display at a micro-computer show at our university. She worked for Radio Shack at the time and we had a TRS-80 there with 128 K (!!) of main memory and dual 8" floppy drives.
I can clearly remember sneering at the IBM guy in his 3 piece suit because our lowly "Trash 80" had DOUBLE the memory of whatever machine they had on display.
He sneered back, replying that "you couldn't possibly write a program that would require any more that 64 K of memory!"

And now we ***** and moan about how 3 GIG of main memory isn't enough ...

changing transition animation won't do anything to speed up the phone. It will actually make the user look at frozen phone more time because the animation will transition faster to a lagging app

Don't bother. He just likes going to every possible thread on the forum to state how laggy, slow, whatever his Priv is and how much BB sucks because there is no Nougat upgrade yet.

Oh, and btw, 5-second lags would probably indicate a serious problem with some app, possibly even some weird memory leak; nothing to do with the phone itself.

Seems a bit better....maybe... but not groundbreaking. Priv still laggy. I have given up on hoping the Priv will be speedy... hence my hope that Nougat arrives and helps.

It's all the alleged security bloat... if it could be rooted, you would wipe & do a cyanose mod... sadly, they're gone & the only security working is the inability to root
