BlackBerry would probably die if they continued to only use BB10.

    No Apps = No Users
No Users = No Devs Wanting to Make Apps

the best solution is to give consumers a consumer OS and keep BB10 for Enterprise.

If Consumers really want Enterprise features, use the BB Exp Suite wit Good/BES. Same goes for Enterprises who don't want to use BB10.

Might not be the plan the BB10 fans want, but it's the one that might just save the company from bleeding too death.

Not much, but I can see that pretty clearly. The only devices that will run Marshmallow out of the box until late 2015 will be the new Nexus devices.

This is one of my big questions. And the answer will help me determine if I keep giving my money to BlackBerry.

Or at the very least how fast will they update the OS without screwing up the BlackBerry functions on it?

And speaking of the M version on Andy, this OS will now allow you to pick & choose which permissions you want on or off on an app. This addresses many of the privacy complaints that BB hardcores love to throw against Andys. And a lot of the Google spy stuff can be turned off nowadays. Most of the complaints are a myth!

The BB competition is not standing still. Will there still be a compelling argument to get an Android BB?

He's right. Google won't let anyone outside the OHA have the final source code before the Nexus 5X debuts and then after that the development process takes at least a few weeks for even the fastest OHA partners who have early code access, if I remember, Moto who was formerly owned by Google was the first OEM with Lollipop after Nexus. Blackberry then has to take the source code and integrate it with their skin/BB suite and whatever else they; want to pile on it. You won't see Marshmallow in Blackberry until 2016.

I'm willing to bet if it's not running marshmallow on release, it will shortly after. It's a new phone they are not gonna pair it up with lollipop. They want to be able to see what it's capable of

Can I blow y'all minds? BlackBerry "Slider" will be running 6.0 Marshmallow, NOT Lollipop... it may be revealed soon with lollipop but I ensure you it will be 6.0 once shipped in the next 7 weeks.

It better have marshmallow or once again BlackBerry will be late to the game. And that would be a shame.

More like "early to the game" if it ships with Marshmallow. Can't imagine Google not having their baby Nexus devices (about to be announced) be the only ones with Marshmallow for the rest of the year.
Just wouldn't go along with how Google has treated their Nexus devices in the past.

We're talking treatment that even Samsung hasn't ever gotten.

I do not, I'm lead to believe he will address either just before, or during but say he will be revealing it shortly after - but if I see the info and assume it's correct, were going to hear about it this month. I have a "Marketing" start date on an internal doc, but not sure what this is supposed to mean? I can't only conclude this is when they will market it(the carrier), and it's only safe to assume it would be revealed at that point? So, if that's the case, then soon for sure..
