I wonder just HOW in the world does BlackBerry put in that big size 3410mAh battery into the Priv? With a slide-out keyboard too and still didn't come out thicker than same, lower sized battery.

    High quality densely packed components?

If you compare the difference in pcb size between a nexus 6 and a recent iphone it's hilarious. The nexus has a pcb virtually as large as the entire device footprint where the iPhone one is tiny in comparison.

The video and pics make it seem that way. The phone is actually less wider than note 5. It actually feels like holding a bigger and more premium version of iphone 5. It's gonna be a kick ***!

I think there are two main factors blackberry has allowed for that enable them to fit such large batteries nowadays (z30 and beyond).

    1) non removable: non removable battery format allows for a larger battery because it can be hidden anywhere in the phone and not forced into a location that is user accessible. With non removable units BlackBerry also doesn't have to worry about battery's falling off the connectors, placing too much weight against the battery door, or being in a form factor to difficult or fragile for users to handle (such as being very thin but with large surface area).

    2) Designing slightly thicker phones that allow for the mother board to be placed under or overtop of the battery and NOT around it. Anyone who has disassembled a z10 or q10 would notice that the battery and motherboard wrap around each other to save thickness. With the z30, passport, and now probably Priv, BlackBerry has opted to place the mother board under or over the battery allowing for the battery to take a larger plane of space, thus supporting more mAh, while sacrificing 1-2.5mm in thickness.

If you are a BlackBerry fan such as myself, you probably really appreciate the prioritization of amazing battery life over a few grams of weight and mm of thickness. I know I sure do!

And there goes some privacy... nice battery, now let Google monitor the apps, gps, camera usage

Edit: yes priv might have android 5 bu what does this say about the future going forward?

Battery stats can't be hidden from the user. I see nothing wrong here.
