I've noticed some issues with Gmail management in the Hub

    1. Delete email actually deletes. With Gmail, delete should archive. That is proper IMAP behavior with Gmail. Let's not get into a debate about whether that's good or bad. IMAP delete should archive Gmail not delete it. I have reviewed my settings in Gmail web IMAP settings. They appear correct.

    2. I'm very happy to see that the BlackBerry Hub finally syncs the All Mail non-label as a folder in IMAP. This is a fantastic improvement over BB10 where they had forgotten it. However, the problem is that when I have a new unread Gmail, it appears twice in Hub. Once unread in the inbox and once unread as an unread filed email (clearly from the All Mail folder).

Would love if the Hub/email specialist here from BlackBerry could investigate.

Or if anyone has any insight.

    Thanks!

    Hey
I got my gmail account working by going to IMAP folder/label settings, and making sure 'Trash' was set to NOT show on IMAP clients. This was the only way I could get it to archive, and not move to the trash. Hope this helps. Spent a good hour troubleshooting it last night. All other IMAP settings as they should be (archive when removed from last IMAP folder etc)

Will try. What about this one:

When I mark a message in IMAP as deleted:
Auto-Expunge on - Immediately update the server. (default)
Auto-Expunge off - Wait for the client to update the server.

mine is currently on Auto Expunge OFF, and 'archive the message'

I turned off Trash for Show in IMAP. Now when I delete from Hub, it does nothing in Gmail web, other than mark the email read. It does remove it from hub, but it does not remove it from Gmail Inbox! It just changed to non-bold.

And now it returned to Hub.

    Hey,
Here's my settings. They are working for me. Maybe removing 'All Mail' was what did it. I remember having my email come back to me some time during the process of figuring all this out!

my phone settings are not touched I don't think... sync every 15 minutes, push enabled, folders to sync - inbox, drafts, sent, (they are faded out and have to be on) everything else unticked.

Where? I think you might be confusing two things.

I have resolved it partially by removing and readding the Gmail account to Hub while also making sure that Trash is NOT set to show in IMAP on Gmaill web settings. Now when deleting from Hub, they go into All Mail on Gmail, but they have a tag called [IMAP]\Trash. At least they're not in the real Gmail trash. Close enough for now.

But my second issue remains. I cannot sync All Mail to Hub without double entries appearing in Hub for each email

    Thanks.

Investigating the double entries. We know what the issue is. Evaluating fixes.

Maybe default the sync to Never on Gmail and push to on. Include that update

Folks nailed me to the wall for feeling this way. I agree with you though.
