    Moin!

Can you start the Blackberry Priv differently than using the button on the left? I exchanged the battery cover, and the spare part does not want to work one hundred percent with the microswitch ...

If the phone is off, it will turn on simply by plugging the phone into a charger (if battery status is read as dead).

You can also hold the volume key down when plugging it in and it will take you to the recovery menu. You'll still need to eventually make the power button work to select option 2 - but you only have to make a single electrical contact (not sustained).

Unfortunately not my (european) STV100-4 ... the battery is charging, that's all.

The On/Off Button ist still working, but it needs several trial until it switches the device on.

Works generally, but I need the power button again to confirm :-) (which works right now ...)

The question is how I can make the contact if the power on/off button fails again ...

If it completely fails such that you can't even make the briefest of single contacts, then you're screwed.

But I never turn off my primary device. If it's not your primary device, and you want to turn it off, let the battery die - then plugging it in will turn it on again.

Turning it never off will be the new baseline then :-) ... or I need to buy a new (use) middleframe and take one day with my set of screwdrivers ...

Thank you very much for your support!!!

    Problem solved!

I managed to buy an original Blackberry Slide-Out Hard Shell Cover - so the on / off switch works properly together with it.

    Sure I do!

I used to own two Sony slider with physical keyboard before I switched over to an Q20 Classic.

Today I use a KeyOne - but I am addicted to slider smartphones.

I hope the upcoming new Blackberry will be one, too!
