On webOS one could save an USSD to an contact like *#*#2432546#*#* (Update check) and give it a simple name like "update" and let it dial via tapping the contact.

This doesn't seem to work with android or at least with BlackBerry Contacts.

    Ideas?

(I know it works when dialed manually on phone app.)

Given the nature of it and problems that have arisen from USSD codes in the past, BB *may* have disabled it. Only other option I can think of is to see if any USSD apps fit what you're looking for. - https://play.google.com/store/search...D&c=apps&hl=en
