I still cannot remove or minamize google bar from home screen. tapping, holding , long tapping nothing removes it. I do not like the look of all the Google crap on my home screen. I know I have an android phone now, but can't it be just a little less obvious?
I really hate that BB is married to android...

Long pressing on it and dragging it to the top of the screen where it says "remove" doesn't work?

Would you happen to know how to get it back?

It's a widget. Tap and hold the wallpaper to access widgets.

It's in Widgets. You can also long press any empty spot on your screen and you should be given the option.

And another way, tap the App Drawer (the 6-dot icon) and near the top are three subtle TABS. It opens to Apps (leftmost tab), but you can also select Widgets (middle Tab) or Shortcuts (far right tap). There are some neat items in the Shortcuts Tab including a Lock and Battery info.
