I don't care about privacy. I'll be using a VPN on my Classic and all data will transmit through the secure VPN. the priv will be a toy... thats all it will be for me.
Does anyone believe anything this guy Chen says anymore? I mean seriously...after flubbing the hands on and admitting that there are two other Android based handsets that are better...can BlackBerry even talk about security with this new phone?
You can buy a BlackPhone for $799 that runs a stripped down version of Android as long as you're not on Sprint or Verizon. There's your secure Android by John Chen's own public admission.

I'm looking into doing the same. I can't afford to run my own BES server, but I'm starting to look into setting up a Secure VPN. I just have to do some research. Any good websites on how to do it? Thanks in advance!
Let's wait and see who can root it or write to system or open any back-door
That time only we can say it's toy.
If all this doesn't happen. Then we should respect what they doing for us.

Good luck with that.
Note that BB10 has not been rooted yet.... how long has it been?
The reason is architectural; if you manage to get root it won't survive the first restart and that's without active kernel involvement. Since they're using grSecurity's kernel it's a fair assumption that there is active kernel involvement, which likely means that as soon as you try to run an "unauthorized" privileged executable the phone resets and the bootloader refuses to start since there is an unsigned executable with privileges in the system partition.
