I have had enough serious issues with my PRIV that I always keep my Passport accessible. Does anyone else always keep their old rock-solid BB10 device handy?

For example, the touchscreen recently stopped working on my PRIV. It started out very intermittently but got worse and worse. Now every time the screen turns off touch doesn't work (no double-tap to wake, nothing. The only thing I can do is a 30 second hard reset). Sometimes I can slide the keyboard in and out multiple times and then I can use the screen again.... so back to the Passport I go while I do a factory reset and hope like crazy that this is some sort of software issue.

I am always particularly careful to bring my Passport with me whenever I am traveling.

Maybe the DTEK60 is more reliable than the PRIV?

I'm on my third one. The first two were replaced because all of my BB and Google services would constantly stop ("Unfortunately "whatever service" has stopped working"). The first time it happened while I was traveling in Mexico and the second time I was at home. Thankfully I had my Passport with me in Mexico or I'm not sure what I would have done.

Don't get me wrong, I love the device... it just hasn't proven to be as reliable as my Passport, Z30, or Z10.

It has been reliable for me in general as well. Unfortunately the 3 failures have been fairly catastrophic though.

Looks like the touch screen issue was software related. So far it is working perfectly after the factory reset.

I trust my Priv with my life, and the lives of everyone within a 2 mile radius around me.

    Beyond that, not so sure.

The PRIV is reliable. There are hiccups that most other phones I've owned didn't have, but the PRIV still works rather well.

A periodic reboot has fixed the rare issue that may crop up on my Priv. I trust it and it hasn't failed me...yet.

Android does invoke a certain feeling of insecurity. But why not share your bank account with Google or a Chinese or Russian or American developer. They can all use the cash!

I'll admit it took me a couple of months to build trust in my Priv, but I've had no issues or problems that would prevent me from trusting it any less than my Z30 or 9930 at this point. I do regular backups of critical data, but I've been doing that for years. No trust issues for me.
