Didn't buy new Priv cause I wanted new toy. My Z10 died. I have Backup. Discovered that RIM thinks everyone buys the PRIV phones just to have the new cool phone. Not true. 900+ contacts stuck in Z10 backup!!! Thanks a lot RIM. Stupid move! Maybe time to dump BlackBerry. Been BlackBerry user since the 7530, maybe 15 years ago.
Get it together RIM. Somebody write the code to allow use of OS10 backups. Has no one else bought a Priv after a lost, stolen, run over, dropped in toilet phone???
    So disappointing.

They have an app called Content Transfer that can move local contacts from a BB10 device to the Priv. It also moves local Calendar items, text messages, notes, photos, videos, and I think a few other things.

Unfortunately there probably isn't a way to take your desktop BB10 Backup made with BlackBerry Link and directly restore that to the Android Priv.

Your only solution would be to find/borrow a BB10 phone, restore your Backup onto it, and download Content Transfer from BlackBerry World and make your new backup. After you restore your info to your Priv, you could wipe that BB10 device.

Content Transfer can make its backup onto the SD card or upload to Google Docs. I'd recommend the latter as restoring from Google Docs seems the most seamless.

After you solve your issue, you should really consider some type of email account where you can associate and sync your Contacts & Calendar. You can do this with Gmail, Outlook.com, etc. That way you never have to worry about backing up or restoring your contacts; they'll automatically restore just by adding that email account to your smartphone.

Thanks for your reply, and yes, your idea is apparently the only way.
To me, this seems like a glaring oversight. I have to assume there are serious constraints to this migration path.
    If I had know...

Don't give up! Elite 1's idea is the best. I was also frustrated after learning BB Link wouldn't work with PRIV. This is a very good phone. It gets some time to getting used to it and I still miss my Z10 after almost 2 weeks, but apparently it will get better with the updates. Good luck!
