I noticed mine has slowed down a bit since original purchase back in May. Aside from deleting pics/vids and apps. How can I speed things up a bit? It's not totally slow, but could use a tune up.

1 - Go to settings, storage, internal, and hit cached data.

2 - enable developer mode in settings and change the 3 animation speeds to 0.5x.

3 - reboot device by holding down the power button for 15 seconds.

Thanks! I'll try all the above.. The second one won't mess anything up will it lol?? What are the "animations speeds" ?

It won't, so long as you don't touch anything else in there. But it is WELL worth it.

You'll see what it does. Just opens and closes things more quickly.

OK cool. Will it stay in developer mode after I make the changes?

You have to, otherwise it will revert to defaults.

It's just access to another setting. It's not really a "mode".

Sorry one more question, will clearing the app data cache mess up any of my apps and / or make them stop working?

None. Just don't fool around with any of the other options. Only the 3 animation toggles.

Just go into developer options and toggle it to off. Everything within will return to default.

Any advantage of using the 0.5x versus the no animation option?

I find 0 a bit too abrupt. But, suit yourself.

Ya know I'd seen you guys talk about this several times and never messed with it. The main lag I get is the phone app when I go to hang up. I changed the animation speed as stated and it SEEMS to have fixed it. Thanks

I've gone to storage and USB, that's the option i have and when I go to cached data the only option given to me is clear cached data, and it doesn't seem to do anything, after that i have no more options.
