How do I take a screen shot on the PPriv? I know on a Z10, I pressed the volume up / down at the same time but that doesn't work on the Priv.

You may want to check that afterward, your Volume for notices/alerts/email is not Zeroed out and silenced.

And if you press it too long, you get a trippy light show that means you are pulling a bug report.

For all newbies try just to type the searchword e.g. "screenshot" (sometimes also native tongue word is needed) on your Priv and go down in the "device search" window that opens and see HELP (?) section.
Alternatively use the "BlackBerry help" app directly or even the superb online help http://help.blackberry.com/en/priv/6.0/

Sorry just wanted to point to the really best helping team of a manufacturer I found so far in mobile space.

And hold for 3 seconds, but not more than 5, otherwise you might end up with a debug report.

Actually, I only have to hold for about a second and a half. Works just fine. You don't have to wait for the screen shot to take. That might be too long when you release the buttons.

That's what I mean, don't hold it, otherwise it becomes a debug report.

And does even longer HOLDING become the Bootloader screen?

    Hypervisor and rebooting into BB10.

I find it tricky to get the right amount of time pressed as it takes several attempts to get a screenshot. I wonder if the BB hard shell case makes it not recognize the presses accurately.
