    After using DTEK, I noticed Whatsapp was accessing my contacts 20,000 times in the past 7 days but I couldn't figure out how to disable it from syncing contacts.

    An employee of mine showed me that if you go into Settings/Accounts/Whatsapp, then click on Whatsapp again, you can disable contact sync.

    This also applies to other apps like LinkedIn etc that you can disable sync for.

    Just thought I'd share. Might improve battery, too early to tell.
