    IMHO, 5-5.5 inch is the right size for full front smartphone.

    I have an iPhone 6 Plus and a Droid Turbo, so yeah, I would buy a screen in that range.

    It is almost certainly a 5.1" display as that is what is being used in the samsung galaxy edge, it will cost BB less to be ordering a screen that is already being made in volume rather than one just for them.

    Likely 5.1, a bit small but I can see where the designers needed to compromise for the people that like small displays. A 6 inch would be nice though.

    The screens got 6 rows of apps. It's about 5 inches... would be kool if it was 5.5.

    I also use a LG G3 and that one has a 5.5" which is a nice size. Anything short of 5" is behind the times.

    I think it will match the SGS6 so 5.1" I'm hoping.

    It looks like it's going to be fantastic.

    The one thing I hope they avoid, but doubt they do, is using QHD. I'll take FHD and better battery life/performance any day.

    QHD = 2560 x 1440
    FHD = 1920 x 1080

    Basically the less pixels you have on the screen the longer the battery life. I too am hoping for a 1080p display. I really don't see the benefit in going higher.

    I mean think about it. You purchase a 40" inch TV with 1080p display so why do you need a higher resolution than that on a 5" inch display. Seems silly.

    this slider is a excellent idea, full spectrum thinking by chen. Judging by the looks of it, it's definitely a 5 in plus. this slider satisfies the people that wants a slider, and the people who wants a high end all touch, can't wait to get my claws on it.

    The best screen size is 4.7in, anything above that, is huge. It's better to get a Tablet, than carry a phone that looks like a tablet! It's weird.

    Since having a Z30 any smaller screen would seem tiny so I hope it's at least that.

    5" might be a little too much for a slider. I think 4" is good or 4.2" like the Z10.

    Posted via BlackBerry Classic
    4" or 4 1/2" would be ideal for me. The original Torch 9800 screen was too small and the keyboard was a touch cramped.

    The point of a slider is to give you both a PKB and a large screen. Would be a waste to buy a slider with not much more screen real estate than my Q10. Thankfully BlackBerry agrees, since that phone is clearly at least a 5" display, probably more.

    To be fair, the LG G3 is not really your standard 5.5" phone, the overall size is closer to 5" models from most companies last year.

    i've been wondering just how big this phone is, but you guys are right, if they are using the same display glass as the S6, then it cant get any smaller than what the S6 is.

    i can see some are whining about it being too big. but guys, phablets are the future. sure they will still be making smaller type phones whose primary function is calling and basic browsing, but given how tablets will likely merge with the laptop/detachable kb devices, the phablets will be the new tablets. just sliiightly smaller.

    I'll be happy with 5.1". There's many people that don't want big screens. By going 5.1", this can very well cater to both types. This slider is also a Super AMOLED as the Galaxy Edge based on various known rumours. And the reasoning behind the pale white look of the devices icons shown through a video via the 2015 MWC.

    I think we need a banana for scale then we get a good estimate :P

    but on a serious note, you can measure the length of his finger, which in this case, looks to be around 2.46cm

    You then basically copy his fingers width and paste it in a line across the device. When this is done, the device is 4'6 Inches in length which will probably be around 4.8 - 5.0" inches from corner to corner.

    I think its between 4.7" to 5.2" Just look at the comparison with the Hands holding the Z10.

    QHD is the standard now. I get the battery argument, but in order for BlackBerry to compete they need to be competitive specs wise be it necessary or not.
