My BlackBerry PRIV running os 6.0.1 Has used 2.29G (and counting) of "background" data this month and I can't figure out why!! It's un real. Not ever have I used this much. I need help big time. Please I'm begging. Lol. Also not overly tech savvy so please make it so I can understand lol

Go to Settings / Data Usage, and look for which apps that using the most data...

Pull down quick settings, tap the mobile data icon, more settings, then scroll down and every app that you want to restrict background data select then on next screen is toggle for this allowance. Do this for every app and enjoy! Which is the same as above. Derp.

So Android OS is at the top of the list? Could you post a screenshot, so we have an idea what's going on, a D can offer help.

if you have enterprise email setup, delete it then re-connect. It seemed to work for me.

Click on Advanced to the left of Post Reply, then scroll down below the text box, and click Manage Attachments. You can upload the image there.

That is an outrageous amount of data for Android OS. Here's a thread that has lots of good info on where to look and problem solve. There are many others here.

Ok data reset for the month now OS is sitting at about 13.46mb for 2 days? Not sure what is a normal amount of use??? But new problem battery drains super quick? And chrome is at the top of the data list? I wish I could do a battery pull like my old BlackBerry. What would be the way to do something like that with the priv? Now I nervous that I've clicked something trying to fix the problem and caused another one. Thanks for all your help by the way.

That's about 200mb for a month, so OS data looks ok.

You'll have to see in battery details what is using it up.

My browser is usually at the top, so nothing out of the norm for me there. I use mine a lot. IDK how much you've used Chrome.

Reboot by holding the power button till the screen comes back on.

Well, if you caused a problem, maybe we need to look at replacing the user.

Check with your carrier. They have received numerous such complaints from their customers, and they know how to trace this problem.

Also check your Google app permissions - it may be keeping tabs on you and reporting back to Google.
