On vacation. Took a great photo with the camera. Kids were looking at it and deleted it accidentally.

I didn't realize this until much later when the undo option was gone.

Photo was viewed and deleted using the native camera app.

I have tried these recovery apps but they either don't access the SD card where the photo was stored or can't find it.

    Thanks,

If you tried while the card was in the phone, remove the card and use a card reader on your computer and try a recovery program again. If too much was written to the card in the interim, it becomes harder as the space may have been reused.

    Good luck.

Try going to the native photo app. Open it and you should find various folders including one named "trash." if you took the photo less than 60 days ago it ought to be there unless you specifically emptied trash. I save my pictures to the SD card as well. I can see my recently deleted pics there. I was surprised when I first came across this and recovered a photo that was in there. I hope you are successful.

F2, do you have a recommendation for a computer recovery program? Thanks.

Go into the Google Photos app, open the hamburger menu and check Bin. All deleted pics remain there for 60 days so you're in luck. This is possibly only if you use the app though. Not sure if the same happens if u use another photo app.

Also, once u delete from Bin.. It's gone forever.

You have to click on the 3 horizontal lines top left in the photo app to navigate to "folders".

Recover my Files is a program I've used for years in IT support.

I just viewed and deleted some junk pictures I had on the sd card in non-google Pictures app. Google Pictures did not show them in the trash. So, it may depend on the apps used.

I'm not F2, but this has worked well for me. Helped recover a friend's candid wedding pix.

And, for future pic safety, consider installing one of the apps that automatically save your pix in the cloud. I use OneDrive, so every pic I take is automatically backed up to the cloud. Box, G-Drive have similar options.
