I have had a Priv since the day it dropped. However, today, I went to mow and plugged in my headphones and the volume was terribly low. When I tried to increase it, the rocker would only go half way. If you drug it higher, it went right back to 50%. It didn't even give me the high volume warning that it should. What has happened? What can I do?

Mine has been doing that too for the last few days. Looking forward to a solution.

Just installed a new software update from Rogers. Still has the volume limiter with no obvious workaround. Weird.

Okay, I have no idea what has caused this but found a solution. Over the last couple of days, a couple apps had given me the screen overlay message. So that prompted me to look in this area. What worked for me:

    1) Go to settings, Apps
    2) Click the settings wheel in the top right corner
    3) At the next screen, click Draw Over Other Apps
    4) Click the three dots in the top right corner and click Show System
    5) Then scroll down the app list and find SystemUi and toggle to Yes

This fixed it for me as when my headphones are plugged in and I increase the volume, the warning prompt comes up and I can turn it up louder.

That must be a Marshmallow change. I don't have a gear, only 3 dots menu.

Dude, you ROCK! Thanks for the info. Don't know how this got turned off, used to work fine until the SP update.
I haven't installed any apps since update, but this fixed the issue, thanks again. Peace...
