I bought Priv in early June. Really like the phone. Dead pixel and the dreaded purple line popped up this week. Bought it at best buy with protection plan.
Went to BlackBerry last night. Said they would exchange it. Best buy emails me today and says it can't exchange it but will instead send me a damn gift card and to send phone back.
So what should I do?
1. Take the best buy deal. Noticed the damn thing is on the best buy site for sale. Use the gift card to buy the it?
2. Try to get BlackBerry to cover it under warranty?
3. Take the gift card. Dude nearby has a four month one for sale at $200 in mint condition.
well, so much for BlackBerry covering a defective phone. said since I bought it from Best Buy, I'd have to go to them. I once bought an Ipad ifrom Best Buy I had to return. went to Apple store, they saw defect, exchanged it for new one.
unfortunately they can't easily replace or cover a phone they no longer make. to make things worse, they are no longer in the hardware business either.
so unless you want to accept Chen's used PRIV which he used for photo ops, you are out of luck
