My sister is getting my Priv. I want her to have the phone working at its best but I can't decide between doing a factory reset, or just removing my data and giving her the phone with all the os updates, etc, already on it. She is my sister, there are no security issues!

I suspect doing a factory reset is the best option, but would I then need to let it go through all the updates to Android since the handset was released, and is this likely to be a relatively quick process...a few hours, for example? I'm on a super-fast connection if that helps.

    Thanks

Factory reset should keep your latest OS update and patches no?

Your Google play apps will need updating for sure.

Reset to factory keeps the current os version.
You only need to reinstall your apps

Brilliant - thank you!! She'll be transferring her apps from her old phone.

I've got a new Sony XZ but will definitely be using Hub and BBM still, so not all is lost.

    Thanks both.

Brilliant. She will more than likely get the updated BlackBerry apps along with her own apps.

Boooo - Blackberry Keyboard only available for Blackberry devices. That'll teach me! Hub works well though.

Hmm, I read somewhere that BlackBerry keyboard is coming soon for Android OS before Marshmallow.

BlackBerry Keyboard apk runs fine on other Androids... Many CB users using non-BlackBerrys have the BlackBerry keyboard installed...

Yay - got it on mine now thanks to you (and Google). I've even got my Blackberry Launcher as my home screen which I'm very used to.

    Thanks

Well, the Xperia XZ is a lovely handset; sleek, small, comfy, well built. The phone works fine except for one small detail...it's not very good at making phonecalls. My voice would keep dropping out for people at the other end. I've run it in safe-mode, done a factory reset....no difference. I really can't be bothered with fiddling around with a handset that cost 550 so it's going back.

Glad I kept hold of my Priv!
