Fairly new to the CB forums. I just wanted to know how does one go about filtering between real and bogus information e.g. a member states that "they have a close friend who works for BlackBerry ". Would looking at one's track record provide clarity?

Almost by definition, this sort of claim is usually bogus but not always done for reasons of malice. But it stands to reason if a "friend" supplied you with confidential info, and you then posted it on-line, then you are not much of a friend. I don't know of any recent posting with specifics in their post, from a "friend in the know", which has thus far come to fruition. Having said that, there is some seriously good criticism and hypotheses posted by people who really do know this industry, and well worth paying attention to.

Thanks for the reply. How should I go about recognizing the people who know the industry and are worth paying attention to?
In all honesty, there are a few posters who provide thoughtful help from a software/OS standpoint, and some very business savy folks who provide helpful market information. Those people post often with very relevant comments.
