- Btw, aren't you all tired of this specs race? Why should I care if the priv has 2014 specs if it will run smooth and without any lag? If it's going to be optimized really good than there shouldn't be any issue with the hw (look at the ms phones and iphone).
This spec race is getting really old, 4 GB of RAM, hexa core, etc, boring, boring, boring. I agree that most consumers are attracted by high end specs, just because they are on the phone but regular folks should't care that much if the priv has top of the line 2015 specs or 2014 ones.
No it doesn't get old, not in sports, not in tech, not in any fields where people are still curious about things.

Tell me how the Snapdragon 808 is "outdated", there isn't even a 2014 phone with a 808. The first device with a 808 was the LG G4 wich was released in June this year, only 4 months ago...
The Priv has the same "best in class" QuadHD Amoled screen as the S6 edge. has 3gb of ram.. Show me the "2014" specs because I'm failing to see...
Do some reasearch before posting crap
Now consider this. Who owns the top-end Android Market? Right, Samsung. And then there's everyone else. And about what time has Samsung been releasing their flagship phones most recently? Around April as of this year. Who is rumored to be testing the SD 820 soc already? Samsung. Will Samsung go with the soc? Will find out soon.
So, who's hardware is going to be optimized first for Android M? No, not Blackberry. I know Samsung's Galaxy line will be, though. .
Which brings us back to Blackberry. A 2014(15) flagship phone, slated for an unknown release date, on a development cycle at least a generation behind. I didn't state that the device was poor technologically, I noted that the device is already outdated.
btw, when was the LG G4 released to market? June. Little late to the game, aren't we Blackberry? So when is this phone going to be released? November? December? January? October would be nice. Seriously doubt it.
Why wait on a Priv, when the S7 is already on the horizon? Or when cheaper handsets from Motorola, already proven performers in their own right, are currently available? That is, If one is to go the Android route.
Purchase what you need. Any bets on how long Blackberry will support this device, if at all?10-11-15 04:10 PMLike 0 -
- Because from a BlackBerry/BB10 perspective these "hands-on" write ups have yet to mention anything that any of us want to know yet spend time talking about the stuff we don't want to hear (it's "pure" Android). Why that is difficult for some of you to understand boggles my mind. Then again, aren't you an Android fan to begin with? These sorts of "reviews" to you must be normal.
Yeah, yeah, this is in the Android forum on CrackBerry, I know. Still doesn't change the fact that the Hub is a very big deal to everyone on here. Well, not if you are one of those Android bozos to begin with, then you probably don't care as much about it because it is not "Google".
I assure you when either blackberry announces the Priv and goes through the list of features or when reviews start popping up prior to the official release, I'm sure they'll be thorough and talk about the hub, along with any other features blackberry throws onto it.
I guess you can't please anyone.
- I want more info of the Priv!!
-- okay here's some pictures
-lame, I already know what the Priv looks like these pictures are pointless.
--okay here's a video of the Priv in action.
-but where's the hub? Thanks for wasting my time!
--okay here's a video showing off the hub.
-Pff that's stupid it's better on bb10.

Nokia? A phone with an advanced cooling system, for a platform that barely registers in the mobile space, that will only be available via AT&T and Microsoft. btw, not bashing the OS. Windows 8/10 mobile OS is very nice.
Let's see here. A non-released device. An unpopular platform/device. And a 4th gen LG slated for replacement in roughly six months. Where's that Priv again?10-11-15 04:24 PMLike 0 - And who really cares? No, seriously. That's a windows phone. A more stable OS than Android, so it would appear. An unpopular platform, otherwise. Nice device and OS, sure. But a non-factor. For better or worse.10-11-15 04:30 PMLike 0
- iFans would beg to differ. I have noticed that iPhones and iPads do tend to age better than most comparable android platform devices.10-11-15 04:32 PMLike 0

And let me break it to you... that "4th gen LG slated for replacement in roughly six months" you mentioned, that replacement the LG V10 has the same Snapdragon 808.Xaiux and astrodan13 like this.10-11-15 04:36 PMLike 2 -
Once again, all the pre-hype, before we're even close to a launch. Somehow I didn't think it would launch in November or December. Even if the launch date is off, I still expected some type of delay.....which will not be good. Not good as in no, don't release a product that is not ready, the problem is it should be ready.10-11-15 04:37 PMLike 0 -
That's all I am saying. Nothing personal here.10-11-15 04:39 PMLike 0 - Oh sure, BlackBerry should out of nowhere, magically come up with their OWN SoC design shop and custom order a bunch of processors for one phone.
And let me break it to you... that "4th gen LG slated for replacement in roughly six months" you mentioned, that replacement the LG V10 has the same Snapdragon 808.
The Priv does look like a competent device. No argument there. BB should reasonably price the phone for its intended market. Relative to the competition (Samsung, Apple, LG) that is.10-11-15 04:41 PMLike 0
