Strangely my friend with a Nex 5 and he was complaining about lags on 5.0. He told me it was the reason he didn't upgrade to the further versions.

Some devices had odd lag on 5.0. Generally 5.1.1 is much better in that regard.

Not the best of reviews this phone don't look much promising? It's taken BlackBerry over nearly one year to make a total failure All hopes are gone.

It was just an informal review of a pre-production device without the final software, by someone who had a chance to play with it for a short time.

I'll take the keyboard AND AMOLED screen S6 edge vs LG G4 always report how the Amoled in the samsung is superior to the LCD in the G4. Deeper black, vibrant colors, and surprisingly, better visibility in bright light

That's because people keep using heavily skinned versions of Android cough LG and Samsung and when they base their impression of Android on that then of course they'll say it's laggy.

It's all relative. People say Android lags, because the benchmark is iOS, and if you compare to iOS, yeah, every android lags more or less. Might not be all the time, but NO android is as close to a swiss watch as iOS is.

he announced at the annual shareholders meeting passport and classic were going to launch in the fall. I think passport made it like on the first day of fall but the classic was over 2 months later in mid december.

Pointless review as they say almost nothing that wasn't already known and they don't mention the capacitive keyboard or much about the software.

I really don't care about the camera. Waste of time mostly.

Why with all these "leaks" has no one bothered to showcase the main feature of the device, the one that distinguishes it from the other Android phones out there? Of course, I mean the Hub? This resulted in Chen showing the device but choosing to open Chrome?

I hope I am wrong but I am starting to feel like we are watching another, maybe the final, BlackBerry car wreck slowly unfold.

As expected (sadly), the device is already technologically outdated and, of course, likely overpriced. $300-$400 would be a fair market value range, any pricing over that is an automatic deal breaker, however.

Btw, aren't you all tired of this specs race? Why should I care if the priv has 2014 specs if it will run smooth and without any lag? If it's going to be optimized really good than there shouldn't be any issue with the hw (look at the ms phones and iphone).
This spec race is getting really old, 4 GB of RAM, hexa core, etc, boring, boring, boring. I agree that most consumers are attracted by high end specs, just because they are on the phone but regular folks should't care that much if the priv has top of the line 2015 specs or 2014 ones.

We're referring to an Android platform device, right? I can assure you from personal experience that BB users are going to need all the specs that they can get.

depends...we dont know the price yet for certain. I dont think the specs are bad, certainly not top of the line but mid to high still. But if price is 700 instead of 600 that does change things quite a bit IMO

The current top of the line is the 810, which has overheating problems so 808 actually outperforms it in real life due to throttling. Next one is the 820 but that isn't even out from anyone yet.

True. The 810 is suposed to be better, but because of the overheating issues, now the SD810s all come downclocked, wich make them as fast as the 808
