GET IN MY HAND!!!!
10.3.1 "sniff" kills the Pepple and other batteries
Oh man - I was REALLY hoping for a Z10-sized slider. . . this one might just be a bit too big. :(
I have a z30, so yes, a 5 in screen. can't go smaller than that

Not near enough information for me to make a judgment on. Will look at it for sure later in the year as more details leak out. Not sure if it will be for me though.
Passport on AT&T
I was actually hoping for a shorter screen. I liked the aspect ratio of the torch as well. Not short like the square Q10 and Passport, but not tall so when you slide the keyboard out, the phone is super long.

In Squircle I Trust
Thankfully that's not the final design, it's just a prototype. The keyboard looks very very flat. And the bottom bit on the keyboard looks thin and flimsy. Screen should also be 4".0 inches and now 5" inches. Otherwise phone becomes way to large in the hand when using the keyboard.
But other than that, I'm very happy BlackBerry have made a slider :D

This might be my next phone, that is if the specs and price will be good.

I'll take too large over too small. Having had the Dell Venue Pro, which I really liked (which I think was comparable in size to the Z10) I look at its small screen now and wonder how I managed. The Passport has spoiled me in that respect.
I'd like a bit larger than the Z30 proportions, if possible. :-)
Also, the Dell venue Pro keyboard was fairly flat, as is the Passport. I'll trust that they'll do significant focus group testing before they settle on a final product.
The market has spoken loudly enough that even apple gave in, people want bigger screens and as long as they can get the balance of the device right when the slider is open it will be fine with a 5.1" display. (I'm assuming it will be same as the s6 edge)
Torch has been my favorite BB of all time. I miss that phone. I'd still be using it but I need the BB10 OS. This new slider has been the best news for me since the Torch came out. So excited. I will definitely get it and give up the Z30, which is a powerful beast, but I need a physical keyboard. I was going to get the Classic or Passport but not anymore. I'll take whatever design Chen comes up with, but like what people above have been saying, a Z10 size screen would be great.
Any idea as to when we might hear some official info about the device? Or see more of it?

well ..I wonder if you guys noticed but Samsung and Blackberry made a deal and now we have this showing up around the same time as the S6 edge ...
So i'm thinking BB and Sammy are sharing that curved 5.1" 2560 x 1440 AMOLED display, also from the pic on N4BB the back looks like the S6 as well camera center mounted looks like dual led flash ... to replace the heart rate sensor + flash combo on the S6.
I love this concept but the keyboard needs to have less bezel below it .. and use the key design of the passport as i like the angled look those keys have.
So is it only me that thinks maybe Sammy S6 and this new BB concept have been co-developed ???
if so i hope they share the same camera's, cpu and ram but with a larger battery and maybe front firing speakers.
here is to hoping but i am impressed so far.
I've had the Passport for a couple weeks now. Typing on it with thumbs and supporting it on the back with index fingers makes it nose heavy. Have to push my fingers up a bit more. This slider looks like it has more weight in the tail for better center of gravity and pitch and balance. (airplane terms used)
Hoping it has a 6 inch screen. That would be sweet!

My guess is 5.2"

They can use a similar frame from the Torch. Make it a bit thinner, put the BlackBerry logo below keyboard, remove toolbelt, and you can have a 4" 16:9 display.

That's what she said

Bleh.
6 inches sounds great! And make it wider too!
:-)

When typing with both hands, I'm afraid the screen is going to fall off :o why dont they make it a slider to the side :o
