Can someone tell me if these emoji icons are typical for everyone. When i used messenger on my note 5 they were normal. I don't know why it's doing this.

What do you mean by "normal"? The emojis are the same per platform, how they're rendered in terms of appearance is different. This is same rendering that's on iOS I believe. HTC is different than Samsung which can be different amongst OEM

No ios is similar to that of HTC and Samsung. The ones on the Priv look like little blobs. Hahaha I was wanting to make sure it wasn't some sort of setting I was missing.

These are the standard emojis for Android. iOS emojis are proprietary to iOS. They'll look different to the recipient based on the phone and software they're using.

Those are Android 5 standard, but i think you seek for iOS / WA standard emojis.
You could try XDA systemwide mod, but i can't tell if it works on PRIV (compare screenshot inside):
