You are comparing with the NOTE Edge (it has a much larger edge). Look at the Samsung S6 Edge. Unless you disagree that the S6 Edge has a curved display?

To me it does not look curved... And this would not be a flaw anyways, if Chen would have not said that it's a curved slider, we're gonna see in November....

But until now curved screen edges are nothing but a gimmick...

And with the slider having only curved glass to the edge of the device it just increases the potential damage to the screen glas if it hits the ground...

So this curved "screen"/glass is nothing but a fail fail situation

But surely they would not utilise curved glass without a curved screen, for this very reason.... it would be a significant design flaw surely and therefore highly unlikely?

Well, initially it will be flat. But since it's a dual boot device at first boot you will also be able to boot into curved screen BB10 mode!

For those who say curved screens are a gimmicks, well go to any mobile store and compare the S6 with the S6 edge and see the difference in the screen itself, there is a big difference, the icons seem like they are floating above the screen compared to the normal S6

The screen is exactly like the S6 edge. It's curved in the edges, just not much

he could but he wasn't. Because as I said it would be just plain terrible. for that to happen, the OLED panel would have to distance itself from the glass to avoid the edge bending, resulting in a gap between screen and glass last seen 10 years ago, wich in the video and pictures leaked you can see that kind of gap doesn't exist.

I believe that rounded edges will make it easy for us to grip increasingly wide devices with large-sized displays.

here's a picture from the editorial that was just put up on what's known or not known of the slider. It indeed has a curved screen and display. I hope that this charging use of the side screen stays in the final software.
