I should say the source was wrong claiming it was thinner than the passport(I couldn't believe it), so I asked the source... and this is what he came back with...

I'm not saying this is 100%, but this is what I was told... don't shoot the messenger

    without keyboard opened:
    130 x 75 x 10.5
    or
    with keyboard opened:
    180 x 75 x 10.5
    (both in mm's, obviously)..

you are still wrong....130 mm? that would make the screen size around 4.2 in which is the same as the z10

That's quite thick, compared to iPhone 6 at 7.1mm. It's even thicker than the z30 at 9.3mm.
This does probably mean that the battery might be as big as previously leaked. ~3000mah

any chance if the phone is 10.5 to see a battery of 3500-4000mah? or is that still out of the question, i dont think 3000 is enough for a "blackberry" (I want an all day battery life for a powerhouse of a device).. 3000 is barely cutting it, most bb users I know use their phone a lot... and i mean a lot.

how does that work? look at the bezels between venice and z10. huuuuge difference

but again... I'm just trying to gather as much info as possible. but keep in mind the 130 is not including the bottom speaker(i asked about just the screen portion) where as the 180 is including the whole phone. again, I'm trying to do the math here and I'm not math expert but these seem possible. idk... thought I'd do y'all a huge favour. I'm trying to really find out what the info on this phone is... makes me wonder.

I don't even know why people like thin phones so much, they're awkward to hold with no grip on the sides. I'm actually more concerned about the width, a phone should be easy to use one-handed. Primary reason I decided against the Passport.

Comparing it to a non keyboard phone is quite pointless don't you think? You could compare it to previous Sliders like the Droid 3, the Photon Q or the Samsung Captivate.

I'm more concerned with this as well. That's why I love the q10 so much, easy one handed use. I feel like the passport is built for 2 handed use and takes advantage of that with the super wide screen but these giant landscape phones for me feel like a compromise.

Exactly. My hands aren't getting any bigger, yet most phones are. There should always be a small-width option for those with smaller hands, without sacrificing quality.

With those comparisons I could definitely see the dimensions possibly being accurate since the screen has no bezel and partly wraps the sides you could definitely fit the slightly bigger dimensions in almost the same form factor as those phones

I'd make sense, the screen is curved, and it has way less bezels than the Z10

maybe less than the z10 but still close to the bezels on the z30 I would guess. The top of the slider has a decent size bezel still.

the dimensions might be correct. it would be kinda short screen and come in around 5 inch I guess. I was thinking the screen was suppose to be closer to 5.5 but maybe not. you can see from previous devices they have all been 140+ mm tall. If you leave off the speaker to the measurements given and are just measuring the top sliding portion then I can maybe buy it.

Using phonearena filters I only found about 7 phones that had 130-135 mm and a 4.9+ inch screen

I posted this a few days ago in the Size Thread (I don't have a good end view photo, so I couldn't give a good estimate of the width):

The most often quoted size for the Venice slider screen is 5.4 inches. Based on a comparison with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge which has a similar dual curved 5.1 inch screen, I've put together a visual size comparison using dimensions and images from the Phone Arena.

That puts the slider at about the same width as the Leap (73 mm) and in between the height of the Leap (144 mm) and the iPhone 6 Plus (158 mm) at about 153 mm. The Z30 is slightly smaller than the Leap at about 72 mm wide by 141 mm high.

wrong, source quoted the slider mechanism on either side of the screen adds about a mm, so 75mm width(which based on photos I can believe it). 73mm would make the screen closer to 5.1"... which it isn't. just fyi

I just did another calculation. The width of the Galaxy S6 Edge with a dual curved 5.1 inch screen is spec'd at 70.5 mm wide. That would make a similar device with a 5.4 inch screen about 6% larger with a width of about 75mm.

I really hope it's not any bigger than 5 inches. I personally find 5 inch phones a stretch.
