Does anyone know what the devicetype value is passed to Exchange? My company now blocks BlackBerry. I've been using Touchdown on my z10 to get around that to get to my corporate email.

I've ordered the Priv but not sure what it will tell Exchange it is?? BlackBerry or Android?

    Anyone know?

To my knowledge there is no way they would block a device based on device model. You were side loading touchdown on your blackberry z10 that means your phone was not blocked. There seems to be a configuration issues on your phone. Now with the PRIV, it's running completely different OS so what ever problem you are having you should not have it anymore

Thanks for your reply. No my company has Exchange setup to block devicetype that has BlackBerry - I get a notification that my device is not supported. Touchdown is an android app I side loaded and it lets you spoof the devicetype it sends to the server, that's how my workaround worked. I wish I could get my email in the hub though so hoping that Priv tells Exchange it is Android.

    Thanks!

Seems very odd for a company to block BlackBerry phones... My company doesn't so I cant test for you... But the Priv is an Android device so I would be shocked if your company blocked it as it would show as android.

That is very odd. Why would a company even care what the device type was, and why prevent BlackBerry specifically, if they allow any other mobile device at all? It's not like a BlackBerry will somehow blow up the Exchange server. Is that what they think will happen?

I'm with you guys! Something to do with the MDM solution they are using. I was in shock too when they took it away. Okay guess I'll find out in a day or so just go delivery notification.

Update: doesn't work in hub same issue as my Z10, if I use Gmail app and setup an exchange account that works. But not ideal!

I just enabled MDM in my Office 365 but it says it will take a few hours to setup. Once that's completed, I'll check what my device shows for you. I imagine it will be the same as what ActiveSync shows.

Yes my work also uses office365. They have a device rule to block BlackBerry looks like. *sigh*
