Has anyone using dtek noticed this was on? Considering the fact that it's not easy to get to I'm wondering why this was activated? Could this explain my battery issues?

No idea about battery. But I was surprised that it was a default and promptly disabled.

developer options should not be on by default. in fact its a trick that enables the options. It also has no battery life impact until you muck around with the settings

I seriously doubt having the Developer Options enabled has any effect at all on battery drain, and there's reason to fear having the Developer Options enabled. I've never heard of that happening, and I always enable it. Have you looked into your Battery settings to see which apps are using the battery and/or if anything looks unusual?

To all the responses thank you. Still not sure why it was enabled. Like I said I know it's a trick to even get to it and the only reason I knew it was on was because of the dtek program.

Mine was enabled, too. I also disabled it, as I currently do not have a need for it.
