Apparently it's supposed to open voice recognition, there was another topic about this earlier today
Well, what if i want to type a zero, also the key feels mushier than the others. In fact i'm kinda disappointed with the keyboard. I mean it's OK, but not as sweet as a Classic or Q10.
Does the zero key click when pressed?

To type a zero, just hit alt first.

Nope, just very mushy.
Don't wait get it replaced. My touch sensitive keyboard goes nuts when i open the screen, called Rogers and they are replacing wit brand new device.
Yes. I was waiting to see who posted about this. My zero key is mushy too.
All the other keys are perfectly clicky. Only zero has the issue.
Debating whether to exchange it, but you might get stuck with a different issue..
All phone are guaranteed to be 100% working don't wait return it because problem could be worse later and now you are stuck with it. If you get another one with a problem return it till you get one that works!! You paid for it you don't have to deal with issues. And just so you know the 0 and sym keys are bigger, on mine both feel the same s each other but feel different then all other keys softer.
I'm noticing that the mushy zero will activate the voice mic sometimes too.
I'm a little reluctant to exchange this because I fear another device might have worse problems.
I went through 4 Passports because they all had a different key that was mushy and they all had dead pixels in random places. I gave up on the phone because of all the hardware issues.
Sad that BlackBerry doesn't do better QC on their keyboards--which is the main reason ppl buy their product.
Anyone else have this issue? Or a different key that's mushy?

I didn't buy a Priv but I thought the same thing about the keyboard when I saw it in store. I was really hoping it'd be more along the 9900/Q10/Classic style.
I have had my hands on 4 Priv now for in house and I can say the 0, space, sym are all a little big and don't really click but feel soft
If you want 0 and not the voice dictation to appear do the following:
Go to
Settings - Language and Input - BlackBerry Keyboard Settings - Advanced
Turn off Dictation Key
Thank you! That was driving me nuts

Actually I went to exchange my unit and the new one is exactly the same. I think it's by design. If you press towards the left of the key you get a zero, more towards the right you get voice dictation. I just find that key to be much more mushy than the others.
