Pretty much if it says, "Blackberry Priv," on it, and it looks like a Blackberry Priv, and turns on and works like a Blackberry Priv, it's a Blackberry Priv. I seriously doubt there is a counterfeit market for them. lol

All BlackBerry phones I owned are made in Mexico. BlackBerry had or has a manufacturing plant there. Don't know what happened after they exited the hardware business. Rest assured as they are genuine berries

Genuine as in it's not a knock off or do you mean that it's not stolen?
I've never heard of a knock off BlackBerry before... mostly Samsung and iPhone but even with the really well made ones, I think it's still relatively easy to tell if it's genuine or not.

I have never seen a counterfeit Blackberry and all the Priv's are made in Mexico with the rare exception of some that where made in Canada and those usually have the IMEI number and "not for sale" engraved on the bezel and where made for developers and Blackberry employees.

I don't think there are any fake PRIVs. Not popular enought to warrant a fake one, especially a complex one like the priv. You have a lot more popular phones to copy that should get better sales

BlackBerry didn't physically build the Priv, Wistron did. Wistron has a factory in Mexico.

Counterfeit phones can be spotted from a mile away, and i'm guessing there would be zero market for replica BlackBerry phones

To make yourself feel better go to the BlackBerry web site punch in the IMEI and you should get a green message

Follow prompts to IMEI when you put it in the answer will be green meaning the number is good, then it will tell you bought from BB or another source

Hehe, I guess a Priv replica would bring moo money from collectors then real Priv

One I could think of that could copy the Priv quite good would be palm, but hey wait the shabby remains of palm went to TCL - so hell yeah, bring on an smaller Priv2, will ya?

A priv replica is as impossible as a fake passport... too many h/w parts to replicate and definitely not worth the while

You do not have a counterfeit Priv. If you do, you could probably sell it for a million dollars as it would be the only one.

Out of curiosity I tried it with my Verizon PRIV from Fleabay used and it shows not a BlackBerry IMEI or a BlackBerry branded partner device.
