They do get warm.... but haven't really heard too much about problems.
Had mine for over a year and love how quickly it charges.
Several threads on this subject - no worries, go for it.
Yes, your battery could die a couple hours early after 2 or 3 years of hard use.
No problem at all. I've been using one with my PRIV forever, and actually just upgraded to a Quick Charge 3.0 charger in anticipation of getting the KEYone - if the price is similar, I'd recommend you do the same to future-proof your purchase.
Love this technology, but since i use it all the time, i have noticed some hick ups of the battery. Phone would die at 16% of battery availability etc... still worth it cause i got the Priv from the beginning of it's availability, but i wouldn't recommend using it too much for ne phones if you want to have them for the long run.
The long haul, now days for a cellular device is less than 3 years. The chargers and batteries are designed around that. If you plan on keeping your phone longer, I'd use QC only when you need a quick charge. If you are like most of us, no point keeping two different chargers around.
Not saying that every battery will preform to design, but the large majority of them will.
When I did my research, I found both Aukey and Anker to be good quality chargers. Getting a QC3 will be backwards compatible to the QC2 devices.
Keep in mind the keyone will be usb-c and not micro-usb like the priv
I use my 2.0 charger a lot for my Priv. I really like being able to charge it up quickly. At night I have been putting it on the Sync pod that is connected to my computer. A few times recently when it has been on the sync pod at night it has charged most of the way but not completely. Then it seems to start slowly losing its charge. If I get up and leave it on there in the morning for a little while I can see that the percentage has gone down. This is even though the green light along the edge shows it is still charging. I don't know if that has to do with the condition of the battery or something going on with the sync pod. If I put it on the quick charge to top it off and it brings it to 100%.
Yes, thanks. The charger I purchased allows you to use your own cables, and actually came with a USB-C cable in the box. Just about time to replace the million micro (and even mini!) cables that I have. :)
Perfect. I know the feeling. I still use a mini usb in my office with a micro adapter for my priv cradle (and 9900 cradle before that).
I use the Blackberry Branded quick charger. I do not notice any heat. I don't use it for overnight charging though, for that I use the TechMatte 3 Coil Qi Wireless Charging Pad. I use the quick charger during the day while traveling if necessary.
