Spoke to Carphone Warehouse to ask about the expected availability and I was advised I'm unlikely to get it until next Friday as they have yet to receive actual stock.

I was one of the first to pre-order.

I went in yesterday and they told me mine would be in the shop to collect on Saturday but things may have changed.

I phoned up cpw yesterday as the money never left my account yet I received a confirmation email but with no delivery details.

To cut a long story short she said she had nothing on the system about when it will be delivered, anyway she processed the transaction and I got the second confirmation email and she said I'm in a short list to get my Priv delivered first... I thought they'd all be dispatched at the same time??


So I guess I'll just have to wait until the 13th if that's what you've been told, I'd rather just pick it up from store on the day but they've got my money now lol

This is ****. I also only have one email, but the money had left my account. I might have to call tomorrow.

The way the first email reads , is that I won't get a second email until the device ships:

'What happens next?
As soon as your order has been processed and accepted we’ll send you a confirmation email to let you know it’s on its way. This will include how to track your order with our delivery partner.

All Phones, Pay monthly SIM cards, free gifts or orders over �50, are delivered by DPD.
All other products are delivered by Royal Mail post. Deliveries usually take 3-4 working days.'

I got no emails because I ordered it over the phone. I was advised the new date is expected to be the 13th. I dunno if that means they're expecting it in the Warehouse then or that is the date for us to expect it in our hands.

I'm still hoping it's the 6th but if I don't get it we can only assume it's BlackBerry. Carphone cannot do anything when they physically don't have the stock.

They can and should update their website however, which still says expected delivery of November the 6th.

Sounds like a bit of a joke situation really.
I understand stock shortages and preorders going on a first come first serve basis, but to have your website say "expected 6th Nov" and then to tell people on the phone it will be the week after (13th) isn't a very clear or concise message. Hardly CPW fault but definitely a bit of a mess from BB. Come to expect it though really with their launches.

And like the above post says, CPW need to change their expected date or at least email the customers with existing orders to tell them what is going on.

something on BBs side caused the delay. Its seemed to be pushed a couple days for everyone no matter where you order. I agree though they should change the website and send out a new email about the delay. Its just good PR from a company to do so
