There's a rumor that the FCC is testing a CDMA version of the PRIV.

So why wouldn't every phone manufacturer do this? It would seem that designing, building and supporting one model would make economic sense. Is it really the carriers putting up roadblocks?
When manufacturers are doing this, it's because Verizon/Sprint has accepted their phones. So the equivalent comparison would be ShopBB selling the SQC100-3 (Verizon) Classic on their site.

So why doesn't BlackBerry sell CDMA phones through ShopBB? Probably because the largest seller of Verizon BBs is Verizon, so they stock the best merchant at selling that model.

BS. FCC does not conduct testing, BlackBerry and their labs does.

No. Canada is 100% GSM/LTE (LTE is a GSM-based technology).

In about 5 years, the US will be 100% LTE, with no GSM or CDMA, and the rest of the world will do the same sooner or later (some countries will definitely be sooner).

You know I think 5 Years ago some taught that GSM and CDMA would already be gone...... At one point some taught the first iPhone for Verizon would be a LTE only device.

CDMA is being phased out and I think Telus and Bell are going to flip the switch off in 2017.

LTE is a GSM standard.... so no, GSM won't be gone.

BTW, HSPA is a GSM standard too

The CDMA variant(s) may have already been through the FCC, for all we know. It not being searchable doesn't have to mean that it's not in the database. Applicants can choose to have their submissions withheld for inspection for some time.

I know. I was saying that iPhones aren't the only phones also sold factory unlocked that are multi-carrier now. Even the latest Nexus phones have this now.
Sorry, I misread your post earlier.
