As I find myself slowing caving to priv-hysteria I am questioning if some of my most beloved features are on the priv.. (I even downloaded the BlackBerry launcher and vkb to my android)

    Like.. drum roll..

Instant action. Can the priv do this? (see screenshot)

Google Now and Microsoft Cortana can do this for sure.

Hell I did not know my Z10 could do that - nice! Of course I usually just hold the mute key and tell BB assistant to "set a reminder to bring dirt to work tonight at 8pm" and let her do it for me.

But can they do it without speaking? I use this feature like 80% of the time where I can't speak it out loud.

Also I should have clarified, can the priv do it with actions like SMS dad or BBM Billy?

Just tried it and no. It will pull up "ms" when you start to type "sms" but it offers "send a text message" and then you have to tap to send text, then select contact, etc.

It does work. However, the action as to be started from the home screen.

You can type "text *contact* and you are good to go

Sorry, should have elaborated more... Instant actions are available from BlackBerry Search. Seems a bit limited at the moment. You can see which ones are available here:

    http://help.blackberry.com/en/priv/5...097302358.html

However, Google App can do this also by typing instead of speaking and can setup calendar any reminders for you. I tried to attach a screenshot, but crackberry app crashes each time...

No, only the google app will do this. With BB10 you could just start typing and the instant action would start. That doesn't happen with Android. You have to use the google app.

The BlackBerry Search for Android app is really quite good and fast. The rest of the phone's OS is a mess, but that's Android.
