If you are using ES File Explorer it has a setting to show hidden files. That's worth a try.
Edit: never mind I see a reformat solved this (?)

Seems to be exactly the same problem with Dropbox not appearing either so can't figure out how to send any files as attachments from here either.
Love the phone but this is a problem. Hopefully someone will have a solution.

I would let the phone format the SD card since that's the device you'll be using it in. Of course move all your files to your PC/Mac as a backup. If the SD card is inserted correctly and the device isn't noticing it, there's something wrong with the card.
well ill be damned. you can't attach a file. the option to chose es file explorer doesn't come up. I moved my sd card over from my s5, but all other apps can see it fine. Poweramp for instance can get all the music on it. on first boot of the phone I was instructed to instal the exfat driver. hopefully a fix will come soon
Holy sh!t, does anyone read here anymore?
Or, just comment blindly?
I could understand if it was a thread that was 25 pages or so deep.
But barely 3?
I'm not reformating my card. Why should I have to? It's worked in all my otherr phones for years
So instead, you'll complain about not being able to do something and blame the device/company when there is a solution?
Can you make a phone absolutely perfect out of the gate?
How is this a solution? My card contains over 60gb of data and files larger than 4gb. I'll just wait for the fix. Cheers
No, but you should sure ask heck be closer to it than BlackBerry managed with the PRIV.
Because all you have to do is transfer it to a pc
format the card and transfer back.
It'll take around an hour maybe more of your time. If you take the card out an insert into your PC/Mac. If you are doing it over usb, it'll take forever and a couple days.
So it's a solution, that causes no more headaches and solves the issue.
I'm sure you could figure out something to do for an hour.
How'd they screw it up so bad?
It has faults yes, but they are reasonable faults for the most part.
Hopefully a future update will include the ability for the BlackBerry Priv to format the media card.

You are simply not getting the fact that FAT32 formatting is NOT an acceptable solution for files larger than 4GB. Also NOT a solution for large memory cards... which the Priv is supposed to be able to handle.

I did it with a 64GB and its half filled with music to about 30GB and I have no issues.
What single file is bigger than 4 GB that an everyday person would have?
Thats not an app or program.
Fix is coming soon folks. Being verified by the test teams and rolled out in Google Play soon thereafter.

Good to know. Thanks!

The reviews I've read seem like the folks are actually surprised at how good it is for a version 1 Android phone. Seems better than the Z10 was at launch. To me.
