So I already have a Key2 Le, Dtek50, Motion, and a Keyone BE.
I was missing the Priv form factor and I found a Priv manufacturer refurb being sold for $80 Cdn on Craigslist.
I am picking it up later today.
You guys think it is worth the $80?

If it works great, yes it's worth it.
I don't think the Priv will lose any more value than it already has.
It's still the only "modern" Android portrait slider
Total worth it. Even as a piece for collection.
Just picked this up for $80!
The guy got the refurb unit from BlackBerry for warranty repair.
Still has the original screen protector
if youre feeling bold, one guy on reddit modified his slightly to reduce heat and improve its battery:

I'm not sure how modding the RAM to 4GB would have any effect on battery life
where did you get the idea about modding the RAM to 4gb? the post i linked just disperses heat with a copper plate and some thermal paste.
Reducing the heat, therefore not struggling as much, thus preserving some battery life.

Oh so you're talking about the heat sync mod more than just adding the gig of RAM
Right. That's all the above Reddit thread covers.

I'd be interested in doing that mod
I would have to pay someone to do that. My dexterity is terrible.
Speaking of the Priv, I missed how nice the screen is, and how convenient having the slider form factor but I also realize how terrible the heating problem and the lag was. Lol.
I originally thought of using it as a daily driver, but the Priv makes my Key2 LE feel like a flagship superphone.
Performance wise, yes absolutely.
On the other hand, the Priv's display makes the LE's feel like a budget $200 phone...
I am still using my priv, I am in year three now and really have to say that it works perfect after I have deinstalled the google app. For that price I would say go for it

What is "the Google app?" Yes, I see a "Google App," in the list but when I shut it off things stopped working like speech to text, as I recall. Same app? I've shut off most of the Google apps, a bunch having to do with other languages, Chrome, gmail, video, stuff like that.
Disabling Google did help, def. I believe it's responsible for default device search on android (tho BlackBerry has its own, which works better most would agree) and voice commands + assistant is tied to it as well I think. After Google, the worst resource hogs in my experience are fb and Netflix
Why shut off Google apps? Google is optimized for Android in many proprietary ways like iOS has been optimized for Apple proprietarily.
Definetly, not so powerful, but elegant and with the best BlackBerry camera, in my opinion.
Even using Facebook use Facebook Lite and also IG is a huge massive resource eater as uses up Cache like crazy.
I really, really dislike Google. Many reasons, from the Politically Correct police HR policies (search James Demore, I think his name is) to their sucking up everything I do to, and this is a big one, they OWN everything I put onto their servers. Yes, it's in the EULA. To the best of my knowledge, neither Apple nor MS are this intrusive. Probably because they aren't in the advertising bidness and Google is.
I appreciate your sharing as I’m not familiar with this level of intrusion EULA related.
Hey @conite , what’s your perspective of this information?
It's how we can only pay $50 for an Android device and still have access to a complete suite of apps and services that we couldn't possibly afford any other way.
In any event, Google has the strongest firewalls in the world, an actual privacy policy, huge oversight, and provides the ability to delete what they store.
I prefer Android where I can tweak, modify to my hearts content While iOS subjected to a close binding ecosystem so intrusive on tweaking making basically non existent.
