Just switched to Priv a week ago and have been disappointed with browser speeds on both Chrome and Firefox compared to my Z30's BB10 browser. Any suggestions on how to speed things up? Or can you recommend a browser with similar simple functionality to BB10 browser and that is faster than Chrome or Firefox ?

Try Naked Browser if you want a light footprint. Can't say that my Z30 browser is faster than Chrome on Android tho.

I am using Opera on my Moto X and it's great. Saves data too. I used it on old bbos phones.
I just ordered a Priv but I am still using a Passport now.

I used to recommend Dolphin but they've gone rogue by forcing you to install unwanted apps
Dolphin fans freak, blast browser's bumbling bundles of bloatware

Dolphin dev is saying its a bug but YMMV.

I just set up my unlocked Priv STV100-1, AAF518 and find my Firefox browser to be slow. I use two add-ons: Adblock Plus and Ghostery. The browser is slow to respond and Web pages often take a few seconds to open.

Yeah that's been my experience as well. I've also got just a couple of adons installed but it hasn't slowed my Firefox browser down any more than it was before - which was slow. I've sent Firefox an email to inquire and comment on my experience. Hopefully others have also made similar comments to them and that a fix will be pushed soon.

My priv's browser is definitely better than my classic by far. Chrome can slow down at times but a daily re boot usually takes care of it.

I switched to Opera Mini after trying Firefox and Naked. Opera seems faster than both, but not as fast as I would like it to be. What is the issue with the slow browsers on the Priv?

I also uninstalled dolphin as it eat battery even if not using it for long time, so together with your link perhaps even data was leaked not only battery.

I totally agree. And typing inside a number of different browser's search bars is so lagged that it actually makes it typing full words nearly impossible. Miss the BB10 browser.

    Oh.. And the calculator too

Android doesn't have a stock browser. Chrome is about the closest to a stock browser because it is developed by Google. The Blackberry 10 browser was developed specifically for BlackBerry 10, that's why it worked so well on that OS. Android being open source, has no such thing.

Chrome is slow on any Android device that isn't a Nexus. Google has optimized the heck out of it on Nexus devices, but even on my S7 EDGE, which otherwise is completely lag-free, it's slow.
