    People, those pictures look ugly.

But... remember how Q10 looks in the leaked picture? Or Z10?

Regardless how the hardware or software was, BlackBerry has never disappointed us in their industrial design.

So if the phone looks like that in a leaked picture before the release, it's going to be gorgeous when it's released.

Gotta say it looks pretty sweet. The back with the glass weave (look?) and the serious-looking camera looks slick.

Still going to be one of those that people are going to want to try 'in person' before pulling the trigger.
They're finally bringing back the glass weive carbon fiber? Finally

I feel that's a "Close All" that's found in android. So it's good, they bought the BlackBerry 10 active frame like into this phone.
I smell perfection in this device.

Why not just get this, use it for the time it exists, and then go for the iPhone 7? People talk about this like if it's a home purchase decision ('it's nice,.. but I heard they're going to be building a Walmart two blocks down next year').

It will be great if the option to choose the Android or BB10 OS on a BlackBerry device is available to all BB10 devices, like my Z30.

I didn't expect BlackBerry to get me excited about a new device again but I am officially excited about the BlackBerry Venice and the rumoured ability to choose Android or BB10 OS.

How BlackBerry implements this ability is of interest, I hope it actually happens.

Re the slider, not my first choice of device but I'll take this one. I hope that it does not give problems with the ribbon connecting the 2 halves.

I love it! Bring it on... The majority of the AndroidCentral folks are drooling over this; many former Blackberry device owners. This is what Blackberry could use to come up in market share once again. I love Android Lollipop & Marshmallow but baking in some wonderful BB10 features would make those OS's even better.

Yeah, but BB10 is already many times more useful than PlayBook OS, even if they shuttered further development today.

Let's forget the OS for some moments... The question is, why the sim slot door is so long? We gonna have a dual sim BlackBerry maybe?
I think BlackBerry has its own technology for "dual sim" with one physical SIM. Although not ready, it wouldn't make sense to scratch over it like that.

That's only advantageous for companies that want to pay for/control a separate line on the same carrier.

Most consumers want dual sim cards to be able to easily switch or split service amongst different carriers.

I'll buy this still! I don't have any games on my Z30, I only watch Youtube videos and surf the net. It's not important to me whether there are apps or not, but it's important to some others. I'm just wondering why it has to run an Android OS, is there something else going on? Is this thinking outside the box, having the first ever dual OS device? Will Google allow Blackberry to fully secure the device, can we even trust this? So many questions, no real answers until the Venice running Android is available. In truth, if this real and becomes successful, I might even allow Blackberry to have the finances for other Blackberry only projects.

How would a case work for it? Did the Torch have cases? Seemed to me like everyone that had that thing was just throwing it around with nothing on it...

    Posted via CB10
I had an Otterbox case for 9810. It was the same thinness of an iPhone with an Otterbox. I posted the picture once before, I'll see if I can find it...

It won't be an 'introduction' because that was a feature that the old Torch had and, yes, it was awesome. Sliding the phone closed to hang up a call was a satisfying feeling.
I doubt the slider will have the keyboard out when answering a call. The earpiece is going to be at the very top so extending the keyboard extends the mic further away from your mouth. Extending the keyboard will probably not answer calls.

Frankly, it seems that a lot of interest in the slider comes from a basic desire to click and transform gadgets which is neat to play with but will not compel most people to pick a phone. I'm sure it will get played with a lot at the stores which may be the reason the carriers seem to have adopted it over the other BlackBerry slabs. All you have to do is have a salesperson standing in front opening and closing the slider and people will come in just to try it.

Here's a YouTube video of the ottorbox case for the Dell venue pro which is also a slider. To give people an idea of how the case worked.
