Trying to remember previous slider phone designs. Are there bbig problems with durability or when phones are dropped versus non-slider phones?

Without a curved screen, they were quite durable. With the new curved screen, I wouldn't drop it

I don't remember any build problems with any BlackBerry product. Folks still using 5 year old torches today.

Let's forget the OS for some moments... The question is, why the sim slot door is so long? We gonna have a dual sim BlackBerry maybe?

A lot of slider phones tend to get all wobbly after a while. Hopefully this one isn't like that.

Great looking device, but I won't be buying it unless it loads with BB10.

    Yep, that's what I had.

Well, as many have mentioned, there doesn't seem to be any utilization of the curved screen. Is that how it looked on the one you had? Was there some use at all for the curves?

I'm stoked about this. I will buy one even if it does snorkeling bear things with Android.

I'm thinking the rounded edges are to make the device appear to be thinner. I prefer rectilinear design.
    Heheh... You said "rectal".

My 9800 got a bit rocky within a month of getting it. Meaning that the screen half would rock slightly with enough of a gap that would give if you typed on the virtual keyboards or press on of the tool belt buttons (which was part of the screen). It was extremely tiny amount of give, but enough to click.

There were a lot of complaints about the looseness of the slider mechanism of the 9800 back when it first came out. Fortunately, in the two and a half years I had my 9800, it never got worse. And I did drop it quite a few times. But, the initial looseness happened before the first drop.

But, remember, the Torch was a lot shorter - about a good 3/4s to an inch shorter than the Z10 now, and the very thin screen part slid on rails above the main bottom body.

Question about the SD and sim slots. Do you need a paper clip or something like that to pop them out?

I would like to have a infa red transmitter on the back next to the camera. It can be used as a remote and night vision camera.
