September 25th is the reporting date for the Company. Nothing significant will be announce until after/during that call. It's called the quiet period. An Android device released by BlackBerry could juice the stock either way, hence it wouldn't be announced.

Now if it was a Google partnership device and Google announces it...well that's different...I think.

Other than that...September 23th will be Wednesday....

I still think it's a Blackberry Android for Work Nexus Device. I know the other two nexus devices have been announced but I dunno...even if I'm wrong it's still a win for BlackBerry imo

We'll see who was part of the "BB10 or Bust" movement line up to get this phone. Talk is cheap, and I bet all those nay-sayers will flock to the stores/online to buy it. I could be wrong, but Android is BlackBerry's future when it comes to the consumer base(BB10 will exist for Enterprise I'd assume).

I've said this before, but I haven't been so exited for a phone since.... The Droid 3 on Bell with the slide out qwerty. That thing was incredible.
This will be 10x better.

I think you'll be surprised by how many of us won't go along with this Android (we would've gone Android ages ago if Android really tickled our pickle). There's more to BlackBerry than a KB.

I'm confident (hopeful) BB10 will live on. Would hate to have Apple be the only one to create the hardware and core OS for its devices. In my opinion, that is very underrated.

Would a BlackBerry Android have more in common with other Android devices or with other BlackBerry devices?
That tells you what it is.
'just' another Android with party tricks.

Android is cool-ish.
But I think the crowd for the Slider will be current Android users looking for that form factor, and not so much long time BlackBerry users.

But that is good, because there are so many potential Android users to sell that Android Berry to. Good potential upside for the company.

Great point... in the stock market BB is in what is known as a "quiet period"... which self explanitory... not big announcements should happen as it would be frowned upon by the SEC.....

I always thought the importance was making sure that everyone find out at the same time - no insider knowledge. Nothing to do with timing your announcement with quarterly results.
