The price $399.99 on a two year contract doesn't make sense if it's $799.99 outright as the Samsung Galaxy S6
    Edge + is $949.99 outright or $359.99 on a 2 years contact!

Sadly carriers do this... I wished we had financing like T-Mobile where we pay lets say $60 for 1GB or $90 for 5GB and finance a device on top($799.99 24 months = $33.33) so it would be $93.33 or $123.33. Break your contract? just pay the remaining amount..

    599. Lumia 950 is 549 in US, 749 in Canada.

WOW 399.99 on contract. That is BOLD pricing when there are extremely good options at lesser cost in the android market.

And you completely ignored the off contract price of 799, which is lower than Edge S6+ @ 949 and iPhone 6S @ 849. Something is still not right about either prices, but it is what it is for now.

Again, carriers will offer less subsidy on newer devices in hopes to maximize profit. So essentially pay more upfront on a 2yr, older devices I've seen get a subsidy of $699 which is a lot but doesn't happen a lot. But I hate this practice because if you pay X amount of dollars a month the amount off should be the same regardless of the device...

Your right I did ignore the $799.00 of contract price. The reason I did that is cause the if it really is $799.00 off contract that makes the $399.99 on contract even more ridiculous in my opinion. So lets hope there is an error on these prices. If not I don't see the BB PRIV in my future.

I prefer they just do away with subsidies an actually lower the damn price on the monthly. Offer financing options for the phones, that's it.

With my plan I have vs the plans they are putting out, makes no sense for me to sign any contract.

Of course carriers don't actually subsidize anything. It's neither a grant nor a gift of money, just a monthly payment plan with interest. It's actually the customers who subsidize the carriers in the end.

    Agreed with the posts above.

T-Mobile is doing it right, I wish we had them here in Eastern Canada, or overall just in Canada. No data usage for music streaming?! Dang, where can I sign up?!?!

Isn't it US$0.76 to CAD$1.00? That makes the Priv around US$607 or US$608 based purely on currency exchange rates.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing. Might sound good but goes against the principles of net neutrality. Data should just be data, carriers are dumb pipes, nothing more.

I'm going to wait for a better subsidy if it's $399 for 2-years. That's crazy.

If Telus is going to do that maybe Rogers will match them. I know they did for a short while on the passport.
