Priv can't be LCD, because LCD can't handle being twisted without color shifting. Curved screen=OLED
So you're saying LG couldn't so this when they have already, twice or mor e times in a production smartphone.

Here we go.. more people freaking out over another TaoBao posting.
    And LCD vs OLED...

The good thing is, the more people freak out about whatever tidbits they can find, it usually means we're getting closer to getting some official information and an actual release date!!!

OLED > LCD for me. Please do not use Z30 as a basis for comparison; that is a poor quality screen compared to today's generation of AMOLED screens. I'm actually very excited to get a phone that is not made by samsung but uses their screens aka the Priv. Samsung has made exceptionally good screens for the S6 and Note4/5 and combine that with screen color settings the accuracy is very good; only the adaptive screen mode made the colours saturated but the other modes are quite good for anyone looking for realistic colours.

Also just because it says LCD on the back doesn't mean it's actually LCD. If you look at any other listing for screen parts to buy on ebay or aliexpress the sellers there also refer to AMOLED screens as LCD because they think it generally means a display.

Oh really? I just love the AMOLED on my Z30. Great phone, working just like new phone until now.

AMOLED suffers from viewing problems in sunlight. That's a known fact. I've experienced it as well. Very hard to see anything in Sunlight or outdoors. Brightness on the Z10 is better because it's LCD screen and you can see in sunlight and outdoors. I hope the newer screens aren't AMOLED due to this issue.

wich smartphone LG made that has a curved LCD screen? I must be missing something here...

Technically you can curve LCD's, in fact Sony launched a curved TV LCD long ago, and there are a few monitors. The problem is that curved LCDs start to affect bleed light between the pixels at a radious of curvature of around 5 meters, so it's not feasable for a smarphone.

    Passport has Snapdragon 801
    Passport has 32GB of storage
    Passport has lower pixel density
Passport has LCD screen (priv is OLED)

The only spec that I see there that is the same, are the 3GB's of ram

Non issue with the latest generation of AMOLED screens as the panel on S6 can get brighter than even the iPhone and that is quite bright already.

    Higher is better

    S6: 753 cd/m2
    iPhone 6: 740 cd/m2
    Passport: 617 cd/m2
    Z10: 575 cd/m2
    Z30: 301 cd/m2

    Sunlight contrast ratio
    S6: 4.124 (Top 3)
    iPhone 6 : 3.838
    Z30: 2.790
    Passport: 2.595
    Z10: 2.051

Again the Z30 panel is clearly outdated and displays the weakness of AMOLED in the past but a lot has changed in present times.

Watch this video from pocketnow from 2:15min. It's screen comparison of S6 Amoled vs LG G4 LCD IPS. They do a brightness outdoor comparison and the S6 seems to be much more visible

For me putting Android in the slider was suicidal.

Hell no I wouldn't. I love my physical keyboards but that's too rich for my blood. If this phone is too expensive I'll have to resort to a note 5 with that ugly physical keyboard case and I really don't want to do that.

    Samsung s6 edge 64GB is $770 USD.

The Priv is dual edge 5.4" vs dual edge 5.1".
    3400 (?) vs 2600 mAH
    Slider keyboard adds $
    Productivity Suite adds $.
Blackberry doesn't have the production numbers to keep cost relatively low like Samsung so add some $.

So to those saying it can't be $900.....how much do you think it should be?

    For 64GB I think at least $799.

I'd gladly pay eight hundred bucks for this phone. The problem is that there's a wave of phones coming out and there's a lot of variety out there. That physical keyboard will make people raise an eye brow but it needs to be more than that.
