    Here's another goodie...

In the Priv's Touch + Type slide,.. is it me, or did they not even bother to take a second image of it with the keyboard retracted?

You can see the slightly protruding edge of the base behind the top third of the screen is missing in both the extended keyboard image (Type), and the retracted keyboard image (Touch).

Thanks Chen, for coming up with the name Priv that makes people like me want to puke at the idea of someone seeing me with your Priv and making a snap judgment. Because based on the people who like Priv you may as well named this phone "hey look at my white *** with a BMW and a McMansion I really think I'm the ****!".

Also at the same time I think my money buys privacy so however I got this "Priv" life of mine it wasn't by having a brain.

Well, at least the 'sloping roof ' indicates BlackBerry has finally achieved greater attention to detail.

Maybe it's the 'runner up' name that got barely beat by Priv, but it was so close that they decided to just throw it up there to make the other employee in the marketing team (of two),.. feel better.

I thought it was referring to the biometric touch keyboard

It's not biometric in any sense (which implies it measures some biological feature, such as fingerprint/iris/etc). It's just capacitive touch sensitive (like a touch screen).

In any case, I agree,.. I'm sure it's just referring to the keyboard sliding action. It probably triggers certain things like answer a call, wake up the device, become a shortcut to the Google search bar, etc.

I like the Priv in different colours!

I know that this would be expecting way too much from BlackBerry but the very bland black and white website could have been used as a cunning form of deception!

Dull website blown away by the launch with different coloured devices!

Are there any other colour renders?

BlackBerry, snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory, every time.

This is why apple is leading now a days.... when you are passionate about your product then people will also feel the same.... there is not even a single passionate line anywhere about priv by BlackBerry.... your pictures shows the passion that BlackBerry should have shown..... when you listen to apple CEO like in apple 6s launch they have fix line we have broken the boundaries of innovation and re engineered the whole architecture to meet the performance bla bla for every product they have same lines lol but they are passionate about there products and people are too.... but John Chen never said a single passionate line like we have started from scratch to build an unsecured android to impossible to hack Priv this is our dedication to security but what he said to meet application need we build android phone... haaa

Like other people said, he was unprepared and caught off guard and it wasn't an official announcement of the Priv. Not saying that it's okay though.

I'm sure once they hold an event to show off the Priv, Chen and his people will give off a decent demonstration. I'm curious to see what else the Priv has up its sleeve, feature wise.
