I just woke up to... "Priv"? Yikes that's a bad name. Won't stop me from getting the phone, but whoever thought of that one (much less whoever approved it) should be unemployed for life.

My guess is they wanted a name that communicates clearly why someone might want to buy the phone so they wanted the words secure or private to be there in some manner

As a Canadian, it was the "Zed 10" and "Zed 30" while most Americans will disagree.

"Priv" really makes me cringe a little. However, if that really IS the name, and they DO eventually release a Silver Edition, I will smile from the inside BECAUSE of the name. In fact, I believe I've just found my criteria for buying the device and I'm going to hold out until it happens. Fool me once with the SE Passport that I can't justify buying already having the original... Not this time Chen... Not this time...

Obviously the name is stupid. I don't know why, but it brings to mind when Nintendo changed "Dolphin" to "GameCube." Also when Windows Longhorn became Vista.

So dc2000 was correct. The marketing date was the 23rd because they would release the official name.
