I just want to see the release date and the 850 CAD price tag.

EDIT: not really 850, but that's what it will be because Robellus wants to Rob All Us.

What is DTEK icon in the lower left corner?

It's got the BlackBerry logo so definitely a BlackBerry app.

Now that I am at work and can look at this in great detail, I have a question?
Is that a trackball of some sort???

No, it's a raise dot on the "5" key for people who are visually impaired, to assist them when they dial a telephone number. Most phones or devices have them. Similar to raised dots on "F" & "J" keys on a keyboard for typing.

Must be there to correct your thumb position while typing (and not looking at you finger position) a bit like any standard keyboard (see J and F keys.)

This leads me to another question... Does anyone know if the keyboard will be backlit?

Yeah everyone has to be compliant in some area or another, makes sense.

Has it been that long since I had a PKB??? I don't even remember if my Bold 9930 has one or not, will check when I get back to the house.

You do know there is ShopBlackBerry and Amazon.ca, right? Stop buying "subsidized" phones.

It appears that quite a few people are wondering what DTEK stands for.

If you take a closer look you notice it has a shadowy figure of a man on the icon. I also checked and BlackBerryDTEK.com was already registered.. hmmm...

I, too, was wondering if it had some sort of notification display on the edges. I'd say just curved screen because surely BlackBerry would have announced such a feature.

Oh wait this is BlackBerry anything is possible.

It appears that the domain name has been simply squatted.

DTEK or detect. I'm guessing its some kind of app that might detect unwanted data leaks or unwanted detection of a phone like in public wi-fi's and hackers are standing by waiting to read anyone's unsecured phone.

The curved edges will have some use / functionality. Ex: Battery gauge when charging.

On JC's video with the hands-on, the keys are backlighted. And I don't think they will release any PKB without that feature
